About Womack Nursery
In 1937 James H. Womack started his first nursery stock in the sandy soil of Comanche County near DeLeon, Texas. He had worked the thirteen previous years with Fitzgeralds Nursery near Stephenville. Much of his first years were spent on the roads of Central and West Texas selling fruit trees out of a pickup truck.
James H. Womack became well known for his knowledge of horticulture, honesty and as a source of the newer pecan and fruit varieties.
In 1958, Larry J. Womack began his full time work with Womack Nursery. After the death of his father in 1964, Larry J. began operation of the nursery.
Womack Nursery was joined by a third generation in 1983, Larry Don Womack.
