Grapes

BLACK SPANISH (Lenoir) - A heavy producer of small to medium size grapes. A very popular variety for juice, jelly and wine.
   
 


BLANC DU BOIS - Vigorous vine, resistant to Pierce's Disease. White, seeded. Recommended for South Texas and Coastal plantings.
  
 


VIOGNIER - A white grape. Tends to produce grapes with a high sugar level. Grapes prefer warmer climates and growing seasons of South Texas.
   
 


FAVORITE - Seedling of the Black Spanish. Very productive, medium size. Shows resistance to Pierce's Disease.
    
 

CABERNET SAUVIGNON - Small, round purplish-black grape. Strong flavor. Ripens late. Vigorous vine growth.
   
 


MERLOT - Medium size, round, deep black fruit. Good producer. Ripens early August.
   
 


SEVYAL NEW - A yellow - white variety with large compact clusters.
   


SEIBEL 9110 - (Verdelet) A table grape, clear (white) when ripe, Very prolific. One of the most popular and widely planted grapes in Texas. This grape hangs on the vine from 2 to 4 weeks after ripening. Ripens about Aug. 15th.
  
 


CHAMPANEL - Large, black. Makes a loose bunch. (Not so many to the cluster). Makes a dark, blue juice. An excellent grape to eat if allowed to fully ripen (about 2 weeks after it turns blue). If you live on the prairie or blackland, this is the grape you need. We have seen this grape do well where other varieties failed.
  
 


SV 12-375 (Villard Blanc) - A popular, white French Hybrid. Vigorous grower. Some resistance to Pierce’s Disease. Medium size fruit.
   
 


JS 26205 (Chambourcin) - Black French Hybrid. Good producer. Matures mid-August.
   
 

SCHRANK MUSTANG GRAPE - A trouble free native grape. Produces a deep blue grape and makes an excellent low maintenance grape arbor. Will grow in high alkaline soils.
   
 


CYNTHIANA - Small to medium clusters. Black berries with dark green flesh. Ripens late.
    
 


LOMANTO - Medium size black fruit. Vigorous vine. A T.V. Munson variety. Ripens early July.
   
 



TABLE GRAPES


LAKEMONT - Seedless, white table grape. Milder flavor than Himrod, compact clutsters of fairly small berries.
  
 


HIMROD - Small, white seedless. A cross of the Thompson Seedless and Onterio. Will grow and produce in more humid areas than the Thompson Seedless.
  
 

THOMPSON SEEDLESS - A long time favorite. This variety does best in low humidity areas.
  
 

FLAME SEEDLESS - A red skin seedless with firm flesh. Very productive, good eating quality.
   
 


VENUS - Early, attractive blue table grape. Fruit is good size. Almost seedless in most areas.
  
 


MARS - (PP5680) - A blue seedless grape. Resistant to mildews. Fruit is good size and holds up well for shipment. Ripens mid August.
   
 


RELIANCE - (PAT. #5174) - A very sweet, pink seedless table grape. Ripens early August. Adapted to wide area. Medium size plants.
  
 


Note: VENUS, RELIANCE, and MARS are varieties from the University of Arkansas Experiment Station, Clarksville, Arkansas.

COWART MUSCADINE - The largest self-fertile muscadine variety. Black fruit. Bears large clusters. Good disease resistance.
   

DOG RIDGE - One of the best understocks for grapes. Resistant to nematodes and root rot. These plants are offered as rootstock only. The fruit is undesirable.
